just a note. there will always be conflicts. but there'll always be times where one party apologizes. and everything is well. just for the benefit of both parties. but, if the first move is made. den, its a different story.everything shall come to a stop. and remember, both parties has faults. so. it's fair. it's gonna be fair. its not that we're losing and we're giving up. but in fact. the real winner comes from within. yes, i admit. i've done wrong. but think again, haven't i do all those things to protect you all? who was the one who talked unnecessarily against jiayi so that you all wont be punished? who was the one who argued for you all? who was the one who told your majors not to punish you all? who was the one who was concerned cause you ran across the road and almost got knocked down? call me a hypocrite. but i have always shielded you all. i've always tried to protect you all. just cause you all are my friends. i don't treat the other band members this way. yes, im bias. but, all this have happened and i've got nothing more to say. i hope, all this wont make everything in the band go haywire. we'll work towards the same goal. the same motive. percussion section, you may be noisy you may have attitude. no one says you cant. i am noisy, i have attitude i admit that. but, you all have ur good points. you all are united. make use of this in a good way. you all will progress quickly. everyone wants to help you all. just a little tips around here and there. you all can do it. even though, you all might not treat me as a friend anymore. but i still wanna say this. you all were once my friends, once my juniors. and i would of course, want to see you go as far as you can. you still have another year or so. ok. thanks rachel for updating so regularly. =)thanks joe and Mr refat's comments. Mr refat: it's ok if you comment on our band. no matter what. u're teaching us. u're our mentor. our band no longer treats u as an outsider. so if possible, feel free to scold or comment or critisize our band. =) we appreciate and will learn from it. attendance is getting from bad to worst. like what rachel had said. wad's the use of having band practice if so many ppl doesn't want to come? sat practices are implemented to help the band. not to waste our time. hello ppl! for your info, if you do not know. ur SYF is somewhere near April. and what's the date now? how many practices do you have left? go and count. it's already almost the end of february! if all you are going to give is attendance problem. you're not helping us to reach the school's target. you're holding us back! for the previous SYF. our seniors wanted more practices. but they were not given. now. there're more practices to prepare for SYF. but you all are not appreciating it. you all are not making full use of it. this is not the time to slack around. this is not the time to agitate your majors. this is the time to buck up! this is the time to show everyone that we're trying hard. this is the time to improve. and it had always been the time to learn. if everyone's going to give that kind of heck care attitude. the band will not be moving forward. if there wasn't any critisism, will there be improvement? please ppl. go back and think about it. by going against instructors, teachers, majors, or seniors. is not going to help you improve in any way. neither does it benefits you. if ur attendance is below 75%. you'll get a poor conduct. maybe you think that having a poor conduct is like nothing. but think further. if you get a poor conduct. no matter how well you score for your academics, you'll still not be applicable for any scholarships or merit awards or even eagles award. so why want to waste your chance? get your friends back for band. cooperate with the rest of the members and instructors. and get it done nicely. if everyone wants to complains tired. then think about it. who can be more tired than u all? but not complaining about it? we might not be good players. but at least. we had tried. it's better than nothing. if there's improvement, there's something. results don't come to you just like that. you'll have to work hard for it. please think about it. and reflect on the comments by others. =) [`Min-] --> |Ma9daLeNe| Saturday, February 19, 2005, 8:13 AM
question. what's the use of having extra practices on saturdays?
just to make us wake up early and come down for band? just to waste our time? NO. it's to help us improve. it doesn't mean that there's band practice on saturdays and on friday, HALF the band go missing. then, what's the use of saturday practices? everybody's attendance is crucial. the SYF is approaching. i know, that HALF of you don't bother much right? what we learnt yesterday. you'll have not learnt it, and what does that mean? you're a step behind the band. everybody is moving up together, but not that half of you all. think. think and think. reflect reflect and reflect ALL OF YOU ARE IMPORTANT. and please, it's not ME who told everyone that you all went to the UK funfair. your friends all knew it. even someone who's not related to band, in the sec 4 level knew it. and please, you wanna skip band. don't discuss it next to a major. think (: rachel. is this good enough?yeah. everything would probably stop, be at peace sooner or later if each other don't speak a word more. so, does it mean that the majors/seniors have to give in to the juniors all the time? does it mean that the majors cant give orders? does it mean that the juniors have the right to rule over the seniors? just to maintain peace we seniors have to sacrifice so much? this isn't the logic. yes, we must give in at times. but not to the extend that even the majors dont dare to comment about the band. for fear of getting attitude. aren't the majors arnd to lead and guide the band to be better? if that's the case, the band should be able to get all the orders and comments given. well, its in the band. hopefully, a new band will be formed. bad habits erased. again, RACHEL Saturday, February 05, 2005, 2:47 PM

yes, respect is earned by our actions. but do they even interpret our actions correctly? all they think is that we're going against them. don't try to help. and give this kinda comments when you don't know what's happening in the band. im not trying to shoot you off. but its true alright. all we want is the best for them. their batch is gonna take over the band soon. if all this continues. who is gonna take over the band? and. we as the older ones in the band. can say that we deserve the respect. if you're older in the band. we dont respect you. how would you feel? at least there is a bit of basic respect meant for us. denise chong ; magdalene didn't said that eugene was ur idol. i think you said it urself. in your blog. go read. and yes. you all promised me. i know you all promised me. and you all were quiet. yes you are good. yes you are showing us that you are listening. but, the way you talk tells us that you're doing it sacarstically. and if you are trying to not get eugene into trouble by showing that "good" attitude. its gonna get him into more trouble. there's no such things as doing it for eugene. you're doing it for the PEACE and SAKE of the whole band. the main problem with you is. if you're unhappy. sad. angry. you'll just shoot it off on whoever it is. yes, everyone does that. but so happened everytime the person/thing who gets this attitude is the BAND. think bout it. you'll have change alot. you all aren't the juniors whom i once hung aroung with. the ones whom were so enthusiastic [ sp? ] all this stuffs. its going nowhere. it benefits no one. shrugs. everybody just gotta ponder abt this. is it for the better of the band, or oneself. shall we be so selfish? or shall we be magnanimous and work together. put in all our efforts. achieve what we wanna achieve. whatever criticism. whatever nonsense. go ahead and do it. but you'll realise one day that everything is spoiled cause of our own foolishness. still i have to say this. whatever happens in band. whatever happens outside band are two different things. different scenarios. all of us can be the best of friends. but during band. serious stuffs have to be dealt seriously. rachel. 12:35 PM
If eugene is a reponsible SL. he would take the initiative to do what other SLs do. NOT make his own section members go against the whole band. HE himself said that he don't want to be treated like an idol. you urself said that he is ur idol.
if you wanna see who knows eugene more. COME. i know how he behaves. you think you know him so much to judge him this way? BACK TO THE PAST? GO. GO ahead. no one is stopping you. we've all tried. TRIED SO HARD. to make everything go well. BUT all of you are out there trying to spoil things. the rest of the band is cooperating. BUT the black sheeps are there. spoiling things. ALL OF YOU weren't like this. so WHAT'S WRONG NOW? what are you all UNHAPPY ABOUT? AND i DONT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST YOU ALL. if i have anything against you all. do you think i will still be TALKING to you nicely over here?! denise chong. EUGENE NG has already promised me. I AM NOT POINTING THIS AT ANYONE. THIS ARE JUST SOME FACTS THAT EVERYBODY HAS TO KNOW. EVERYBODY.
there are different way of looking at things, doing things. it just depends on the person who's giving out the orders. yes, we might not like it. but afterall. what's needed is the respect. just that small amount of respect. isit so difficult to give? the band is moving forward. yes, i can say i didn't like miss tan at first. but what she imparts to us are life skills. theories of life and the correct way of playing music. she makes us appreciate music. yes, we've to learn to adapt to changes. no doubt humans are afraid of changes. but we have to change according to the changes we are experiencing. it brings us no where if we continue giving attitude to the majors, or even the teachers. everyone has an important role in the band. if whoever reading this thinks that he/she can control the band, discipline the band and bring the band to higher heights than the four majors now. go ahead and tell the teachers in charge that you can do a better job. the majors are choosen cause they have that amount of responsibility. the teachers have a reason in doing things. so does the majors. don't forget, they are the one leading us. you can go on giving all those attitude you want. no one is gonna stop you. but think again. who is it gonna benefit? is it gonna benefit you? or is it gonna benefit the band? is it gonna help the band to achieve what we want? we want a silver. we want to show the schools and those teachers who look down on us that we can do it, we can achieve a medal and we are not people who are lousy. we want to show the principal and the mr koh that we are worthy of the money spent on us. don't you all want that? don't u all want to go out and when people ask what band you are from. tell them that you are from unity symphonic band. the band who achieved a silver? at least you'll be proud. right? who wouldn't? band, you all just have to think bout it. every section is improving. don't you think so? percussion, you all are improving too. but please. don't treat eugene as ur idol, ur god. well, all this is up to you. but now, we don't care bout what you do. just keep the noise level down. do what you're supposed to do. and most importantly. learn from the practices. alrights? just this little note. everybody make an effort and we will be there. we'll show the school what we are capable of. im sure we can do it. right? its a SILVER we are going for. better still GOLD. xD Wednesday, February 02, 2005, 6:26 PM
"Goodness i dunno whats the point of doing drills. discipline?. it takes more discipline to practice just 3 or 4 bars of music and make it good ratehr than march up and down and stand straight like a statue. anyway must submit, no choice ah. just get it over and done. bt nt bad. pretty gd considering its a symphonic band."
ok.. that's from mr refat. band on tues.. was still quite ok. everything was still moving smoothly.. had the video taking for the drills, yah? it wasn't very good.. but compared to normal drills.. it can be said as one of the best we had ever done for this year. like wad mr refat said.. it's pretty good considering its a symphonic band. ms tan wasn't there for band cos she was sick. ok. in future. please make an effort to thank mr refat. he helped us alot. so thank him oso. not only ms tan alone. and band members. please be prepared to be called back for sectionals during the weekdays. it'll be on either wednesday or thurs. work hard for the next 2 months. and it'll be over soon. and for those who are giving attitude. go ahead. since that's wad u wan. we shall not let u hinder our way. and for those internal conflicts. like wad i had been doing. i shall not bother bout it. if u think purposely doing wad u're doing is becos of ur SL. think again. u might get him into bigger trouble.
